When I'm bored of WoW, I tend to try out different aspects of the game since the game is so HUGE.If I'm really bored, I'll lay my hands off gaming and proceed to watching anime or reading mangas. I was never a fan of any other MMOs or even console games so other than playing WoW, i don't really game at all.
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
I've tried WAR, it is a great game and puts WoW PvP to shame, however, I'm a big fan of PvE.WAR doesnt deliver very good PvE
Yeah, I watch Anime. Also I play City of Heroes.I'll just leave now.
I pirate/rent/buy classic movies.Watching "Dr. Strangelove" at the moment, daily quests be damned.
I find myself in a pattern of playing WoW for several months, becomming bored and going away from it for several months, and then returning to it.While I'm away, I tend to get back into first person shooters, movies, music, TV shows and football.
Yeah, PW is pretty cool from what I've seen. I'm really looking forward to hearing more about that new game they're making, Jade Dynasty. I've checked out FreeRealms, but it took me the whole weekend just to get it installed (it doesn't play nice with AdBlock apparently), and it keeps crashing when I'm doing card battles.Of course, my free time lately has been taken up by the nostalgia that is the original Pokemon Blue >_> Don't judge me! Maybe I'll wipe the dust off of my 360 sometime this month and rekindle my love for Viva Pinata and Oblivion...
To be honest, I play a few free mmorpg's alongside WoW. Recently I've been digging into a game called Ethersaga Online. It's not bad, definitely really fun to play for a free game, the only thing to really spend money on is the Cash Shop, which you need absolutely nothing in the shop to be able to play the game comfortably, most items just make your character "look pretty" or "cool" whichever you choose.Another game I just got into (it's in Closed Beta at the moment) is Dragonica, it's a 2.5D MMORPG that is kind of like a bash'em up type game with combos etc. It's a lot of fun, and most of the time after booting my computer up I'll go straight to this (mostly because the CB ends in 5 more days).Other than these I'll usually play some of my PS2/PS3 games or go out and watch a movie with friends. I haven't honestly gotten in a good days worth of WoW in a couple of weeks now, honestly considering cancelling my subscription until I decide to start it up again.
I always go back to EVE online. I've tried moving on to other MMORPGs like Conan (lawl) or WAR, but i find myself wanting something non-RPGish, thus, EVE which is totally different from most any MMO out there.
The game bores me right now, to be perfectly honest. Apart from logging on twice a week for a few hours to raid, there is nothing else for me to do.I'm not really looking to (re)start another MMO, but catching up with other games instead. EVE is too much like a second job and requires a massive time investment to actually get to anything exciting; WAR was nice enough, but I quite honestly can't be bothered. Nothing else catches my eye right now.Jumpgate: Evolution and Champions Online look relatively interesting, so I might give those a whirl when they come out. In a perfect world, someone would release a new updated shiny version of a Planetside-esque MMOFPS, which would be brilliant.
I have and do. The first MMo I ever played was Asheron's Call 2 and it was boring as watching dried paint dry. I used to ridicule Wowplayers until it sucked me in. Since then I've thought about playing other MMO'sWow still has enough for me to do, so I while I find myself drawn to other MMO's I'm not feeling pushed from Wow. I like the atmosphere of the world of Conan and Warhammer, but Conan isn't very popular (so empty servers) and Warhammer just isn't very good PvE-wise. Or so I understand.
FYI, so far, I've tried:
I've tried just about every MMOG out there at least once. For a long time I played Anarchy Online, and because the core game is free, it can be something fun to pass the time. Although some people can find it too grindy. At some point around when Shadowlands came out I decided to subscribe, but I quit for good last fall. I also played EVE Online for a long time, but just recently let my account lapse. I've either tried out during beta, or free trial just about everything that has come down the pipe over the last ten years, from the free Korean grinders to the mainstream big IP titles like LotRO, Conan, Warhammer and others. TBH when I get burnt out from WoW I tend to want a break from the fantasy genre more than the game itself. With the spring doldrums upon us, I find myself growing bored with it. However there really aren't many MMOGs around that are of a different genre than high fantasy that I haven't already played or at least tried out before... There are a ton of possible MMOGs being developed that break from the high fantasy mold. Earthrise, Star Trek Online, Fallen Earth, Black Prophecy, The Secret World, Jumpgate Evolution, are some of the modern and sci-fi genre MMOGs coming soon. A few of those I am really looking forward to checking out. Then there is the Knights of the Old Republic MMOG and perhaps the one I am most looking forward to, the top secret World of Darkness MMOG. One of the main reasons that I avoided WoW for so long (I was a long time Ultima Online player) was that it really is missing some key MMOG ingredients for me. So, the WoW killer for me, while it doesn't currently exist, can be made. If the perfect game for me ever becomes a reality, I will say goodbye to WoW forever... but for now, here I am. 8)
Tried several mmos, nothing like wow out there. 6 games installed, diablo2, mass effect, wow, GTA4, and 2 more i rarely play. I think the key to playing wow and keeping the eagerness is to have reachable and easy to obtain- achievement like- goals. I'm not raiding, i did all the hc dungeons but what keeps me going is to find new ways of making money, lvling up a profession, exploring new zones, classic dungeons etc. Leveling and playing an alt just with friends definitely keeps you in game.
