Actually ridiculous that there's still no solid proof of what causes it to drop. Nice work from the players but this shouldn't be a secret finding project.
one of the more dumber decisions by Blizzard, if you want to make some special requirements atleast make it clear to the players or at the very least put some hints in the game.
How come I never knew about Neena?
If so, then make it account wide, not only Necro covenant exclusive. I mean you can loot it as Necro, but make for example Venthyr able to ride it.
Necrolord, Abomination Stiching Level 2, Neena at my side, Renown 34, and no luck... I think this is only speculations. Maybe is just a ridiculous %
I've farmed it every day since lvl30 reknown and even at 34 plus using neena just now on area52 horde side it still hasn't dropped.
I just went and got Neena after reading this article, built her, and looted Tahonta with her ability and received the mount.Made my account just to post. Hopefully others can find out for sure what triggers the mount dropping. Yangtotemz - Illidan is my character if you'd like to check the armory collection for proof.
Didn't work for me. I build Neena, killed Tahonta, used her ability and received only the usual meat and anima. There must be more to it than or it was just pure luck for those that looted the mount with neena in tow.
And on top of all that, the drop is not 100%...
Just got Neena and killed Tahonta used Neena's ability and no mount.
Started killing this rare again as soon as I read it finally drops. Like some others here, I too have had Neena with me, multiple times, looted with her ability and looted normally, no mount drop. I'm necro, renown 34, abomination factory lvl 3, Undying Army at exalted. I highly doubt Neena has anything to do with it, so I'm gonna continue killing the rare without Neena. I'm very sure this is just another 1%-3% drop mount, and just because the first person happened to have Neena with them when looting the mount, the whole community now thinks that's the trigger. I'll keep looting Tahonta without Neena for a month, if the mount won't drop, I'll try couple more times with Neena. I wouldn't even understand why would a random construct be the trigger to get a mount drop? Makes no sense.
All these stupid stipulations on getting things to drop is very annoying. It should be 1-5% for every player regardless of covenant/level and a very high chance for people who meet the desired match. Like the person who summons the toad = 100%, person who uses the saddle on the horse.... etc. Maybe you get lucky or else you grind it out the long way
Just found and crafted Neena and went to kill Mob used her ability to loot it and got the mount Renown level 33
