Blizzard has announced via the
WarcraftDevs twitter
that they are implementing a hotfix to address level 60 enemies inside the Alterac Valley PvP Battleground not properly scaling. Since the launch of
Shadowlands
, the Alterac Valley bosses Vanndar Stormpike and Drek'Thar have had very low health and damage, even when buffed by towers, resulting in extremely short games as players steamroll right though the "epic" battleground within a matter of minutes and next to no actual PvP. While seemingly great for honor farmers, the situation has led to a
number of complaints

Cool, can we fix the ridiculous overtuning of torghast next...
You fix it by getting better and by getting better gear. Or do you think that by January a layer 8 should take you 10 minutes?
Well it actually takes 15 minutes in my hunter now, so 8 minutes by January isn't unreal

Now they need to fix the Wintergrasp cannons and vehicles. With over 45 matches of WG played I've only won 2 games as attack. The demolishers have 144k hp and hit for 5k-12k on players, the catapults flamebreath does 2.5k~ per tick leading to easy 3v1s. The cannons do 5k+ to players and reach sunken temple, causing anyone who goes there on attack to wrecked from them and ultimately snowballing into a loss. Once the southern towers fall everyone returns to keep and builds max (usually 12/12 or 16/16) and just fires on the broken wall causing a bottleneck that's unwinnable. Its worth taking the 15 min deserter as attack because its almost a guarantied loss and the BG lasts on average 30 mins.
I agree and came to the same conclusion... especially with the fast AV last week it was possible to desert and get into and complete 2 AVs after waiting out the debuff in the same time the loss of WG.
There simply needs to be more ways to kill the walls, like they had with bombs with the other epic BG they retired. Right now everything is based on vehicle control, and that just does not promote strategy... it only promotes slogfest.
And defenders should not be able to get the demo vehicle, or they should reduce the player damage significantly (50%+) so that it doesn't make sense to pick it for PvP instead of assaulting buildings.
