What exactly is the harm in letting people use their Legiondaries that they put time and effort into for Timewalking? You aren't exactly getting Heroic or Mythic from running it, so it's not an unfair advantage. I see it as a contained power fantasy similar to Torghast. Disabling them while leveling to prevent speed levelers is understandable, but at least let us use them during Timewalking.
this is as necessary as the portal room change
They'll be like old set bonuses everywhere. Useless
oh cmon...they nerfed my 210% running 101 lvl twink DH when BFA came; and now they are rendering useless all the remaining - tripple leap / shepuz speed warrior as well.At leas the could create a CUBE! for legionaries so they don't take up like half of the Bank.
this is most likely done so people would not combine, SL powers, BFA powers and Legion powers when doing timewalking or lower level battlegrounds, just think about it, how op would anyone be if all those where still available.
"What do you mean players are having fun using them while timewalking?""DELETE FUN IMMEDIATELY!"
balancing of what? how fast we can clear old content? that doesnt make any sence.
This is sad news, I have always loved to twink my max level characters for timewalking dungeons and raids and this has removed the last bit of joy I had for WoW.I don't see why they would even do this, the legendary items were disabled for characters above level 115 anyway and they did not interfere with max level content in any way- they were merely added a bit of fun to timewalking dungeons and raids. If they are going to do this they may just as well remove all of the legendaries. Without the unique effects they will serve no purpose other than to be normal items you can get anywhere in the game, although some items has sockets but not many of them. The items will just be nostalgia of the Legion expansion, nothing more. What's next, will Blizzard remove all old raid gear with sockets in them too? This really isn't fun anymore and they can't continue doing this if they want to maintain a fun game. But I guess it all comes down to Blizzard's arrogant and silent behavior to always do the opposite of what players want, complain all you want people- Blizzard will never change their minds about this just like everything else as of late.
Its still working now, but this is in ptr. And if the attributes are made into legacy, they will be like old gear sets, with all the extra affects no longer working. Which is very sad, they were fun to use in TW.If they are now totally useless, they need to be changed so we can delete them. There is zero purpose in keeping something that provides no benefit at all.
So, here is the problem you are all overlooking:Because of how leveling works now, they would have had to made these all have the stats of a Level 50 item of appropriate rarity, but equippable at level 10 (and that is not even factoring in the ilevel upgrades to them). And why? Because in Legion, you could equip one at Level 101 during the leveling of the expansion, and they were good the whole time to 110 (and frankly to 120 with ilevel boosts, even if you lost the legendary effect after 115).It is not JUST because many of the legendary effects are being co-opted for the new system, but because there was a distinct unintended power-curve that existed because of them. Even just 1 would be a HUGE deal, and basically make buying class legendary tokens for your alt the intended way to level. That was just put a stop to, rather than finding a way to balance it, because frankly, it didn't need to be balanced out.Would it be nice if they worked in Timewalking? Sure, of course. But because the same spell IDs are being used for the new legendaries for many effects, it just won't work. The numbers are going to be for the new legendary items, not the legacy ones.Is it a crummy shortcut they took to use those spell effects? Yep, no doubt about it. But it goes hand-in-hand with the balance issue of it being too much of an issue to balance, while not being worth balancing in the long run.It is not a "FUN DETECTED!" moment. It is a problem being solved in a simple manner, that happens to have impact on some small niche moments. Open up your mind and realize: This is their game, not yours. How you want to play it falls within the rules they set. Not the other way around. You can disagree with it, if you want to, but give valid criticism as to why you disagree ("lol, Blizz hates fun" is not valid criticism), and look at the bigger picture behind it.
I hope they do work in timewalking because a few are great still and i regularly equip mine when doing timewalking, however the way this reads is that they will no longer work for anything. My guess is that as you could start a character off in legion then they would have to start at a much lower level, question then is what is the cut off as they would need to work through to the new level 50, however does that mean that other legionaries will now work up to lvl 50, like some of the classics and will i be able to use things like thunderfury in timewalking. On the note around bag space, will we be getting more bank space or do i need to create a load more alts to store all the extra mats i will be getting due to SL.
Another pointless, stupid, anti-consumer change. Why bother doing this? What's the point? I wanted to to do a 111lvl dark iron dwarf warrior but now, don't see any reason wasting my time. No Fun Allowed is not a meme for a long time.
Why yes, let's keep the legiondaries, with all their interactions with powers and abilities that will be changing in Shadowlands. And the level squish. No possibility of glitches there. Better yet, let's update them! It would totally be worth going back to rework expansion content from five years ago. Wouldn't possibly cause the already tangled code to become more of a mess, not at all.I am being sarcastic.
