great read. Just found missing a talent discussion (the changes, the nulls, the new combos etc.)
Drain soul was much better, during legion. I enjoyed aff lock much more around that period
Seems I'm returning my 'dotter' back to Affli, from Destro, in SL. I love the way it played in legion, and in there it was, to me, the more 'tankier' of the specs, even if you'd pull off aggro from your tank pets (which at the time the best one was the Infernal, made permanent by a talent).A thing I'd like to see change is which pets each spec could use. Since BfA, for example, pretty much only Destro could call Infernals. Remove the Void-tanker, and put the infernals as their permanent tank pet option, keep the voidwalker on Demo, and Affliction could use, dunno, Doomlord (or swap it with Void on Demo). We've seen many demon variation, I think it's time the WArlocks get an increase in their minion 'stables' (But I might see why they don't, mostly because of the glyphs altering appearances of all current ones).
Nightfall doesnt really fit into modern WoW. It was brought back for nostalgia. It was cool back when the game was slow and people cared more about immersion rather than being competitive.
I have to say, I don't know who this Kalamazi person is but if they find themselves wandering through here (can't imagine they would but just in case)...this was incredibly well written. the majority of these "state of" articles boiled down to "azerite traits are gone, losing corruption is a nerf this sucks, everything sucks blah blah blah". but this article actually seriously wrote about both pros and cons, along with potential uses and ideal situations of each talent and ability. It was well written and a lovely change after seeing all the other nonstop complaints.
Seeing people being excited about these changes just makes me realize that Affliction isn't for me anymore. I just wish they would delete Darkglare. Sadly I predict that Aff is going to see a 9.1 a lot like 8.1.
"...Overall Affliction feels similar to BFA but also very different..." - good conclusion thank you >.<
"A potential change could be that Sow the Seeds now also applies Agony as well as Corruption to all the targets it hits."They need to do this. Would be great.
