its going to plummet anyways classic servers die after naxx most people are raid logging wtf are they going to do when they already geared to max and have no reason to log into for raids
I'd love to get to start characters from 58 on a TBC server - i am so over vanillas levling process with having gone throughto 60 on 2 characters, and a meddling number of alts in the 30 ranges.I know it won't happen, but it would be great - because then i could level and keep alts for different purposes like back in thegood old days - and i could explore new classes to play.Already having played Warlock, Shaman, Paladin - i feel like i could not go wrong with playing my Rogue/Warrior and perhapsa priest on top of that. Or maybe not priest. Maybe paladin again? The point i am making, is that i would love some form of ease to circumvent the whole levling process - i am frankly notthat past the idea of just cashing in on some boosts from people at this point - the world, the lore and everything has justworn thin for my part - but not TBC - i love TBC.As far as "Gold duping" goes, or copying characters or whatever it is that the people believe is the next coming of christthese days - it's a minority that would do this. I already know of peoeple who functionally do the same thing in Vanilla, and it has not caused a massive dent in the economy.Yes, they made thousands of gold. Yes, that is a lot of gold in Vanilla. Some recipies cost hundreds of gold, though, and with the goldsink that is Flasks - people can more than readily get their supplies and drain their gold with justsheer raid logging. Thus, i hardly think "The economy will crash" - it'll just be the second incarnation of people who multibox for black lotusesand *!@# - it's a nuance that is present in Classic, and will be present come TBC - if it comes. Can't express enough hype for this - i am really psyked and looking forward to experiencing TBC once more.
Whatever is decided, I hope the option to transfer characters is an individual character basis. I think it would ease a lot of the "I want a copy" crowd's concerns if we could leave one of our characters behind in the always 60 realm and level on the rest in TBC. Personally, I'll want to forever keep my main character geared in the sweet gear that took so long to obtain. While i wouldn't mind sending my alt on a one way trip through the dark portal on a different server. I definitely prefer the familiarity of trying BC Classic with a character i leveled to 60 than to be given a free 58.Just an aside, to anyone worried about recreating the entire WoW timeline in "Classic" iterations, I don't think you have to worry about these getting past WotLK. Cata will be the jumping off point for most everyone.
Same but BC will do for now.
A lot of BC content came back to Azeroth. Kara for one. It should be a new server that allows you to run vanilla and BC
I love the first three expansions, so I've been saying option 4 since Classic came out. I don't want to take my characters to TBC until they've gotten to 60, and until then I want to be able to play them in Classic without the server being polluted by TBC gear. And the same will be true about WotLK servers, after I've hit 70 in TBC.In any event, I want to be able to play Classic, period. As long as I can play Classic as it is now, I'll live with whatever other decision is made. For those who complain about stagnancy or splitting the population, you don't get why people like me play Classic. I don't play a game to go along with the whims of a mob, I play because I like the content. That's why Cata pushed me out of the game entirely, because the world was literally torn apart and I was told I couldn't play in the old one anymore. You can't tear apart a great novel and tell me I can't read it again because someone is going to write a better version. (I'm looking at you, George Lucas.) It is what it is, and I'd thank you very much to keep your hands off it.And thank you, Blizzard, for putting the pages of this story back the way it started. I'll continue to pay you for the privilege of having it just the way it is. As long as it stays just the way it is.
I didn't get the survey, but my choice would be to continue on the Classic server I am on and progess on to BC.
There's only two actual likely scenarios if this plan in any way goes ahead;One- We end up with xpack servers, the player base gets so fractured that almost all of them are ghost towns so Blizzard say it's too much effort for not enough people and all xpack/classic servers get shutdown.Two- We end up being forced down the xpack path to avoid fracturing the player base thus defeating the whole point of Classic being made in the first place and it means Classic will chase Retails tail up until a point that Blizz either shut it down or merge the two.Only reason I can see for Blizzard wanting to take this path is because it's the path of least work for them. Classic+ would require way more time, effort and development than reworking the xpack contents & the xpacks inevitably lead to a much quicker shutdown of Classic or merger of Classic into Retail. Glad to see so many people playing into their hands on this too...
I’d vote for 3 or 4 if I had gotten a survey. Transfer over or start fresh from 1. Very exciting time to be a WOW player.
NONE of the options is good.Blizz just needs to give the players the choice/ability to select any level they want to lock at any time they want (as long it is below the max level)Why? Some people like to stay at 19 for PVP, some want to stay at 29, some at 60, some at 70.This function can be done like setting for raid mode switch from normal to heroic or 10man to 25man.That solves all the servers transfer problem or whatever starting a new character issue. Everyone can stay on the same servers. Blizz just needs to add this function under the character panel. It's a win for everyone. Nobody leaves guilds or servers. Everyone stays on the same character and name. People choose whatever content they want to play at whatever level they want. They can do AQ at level 60 or Black Temple at level 70. Choice.Players just want to experience the classic experience. GIve the ability to experience it with this function. Done. End of story.
Further community fragmentation. Bad idea.
if they are thinking of rerolling classic wow to phase one im quitting right now, &*!@ that #$%^.. if people want tbc classic so bad make seperate servers and client for that where they can just hang out i want my classic to be classic.
Looking back on this thread, Blizzard gave us the options in the order they preferred, and it seems that no matter what data they got from the survey they followed through just as they'd planned.
