The press conference is a perfect metaphor for what Blizzard does to us players. Lots of hype, talking about how great Blizzard is, and then delivering crap. No Mr Brack, we do not expect amazing things from Blizzard any more. We expect mediocre content that requires patches and nerfs on a monthly, if not weekly, cycle.Perhaps you should consider hiring back those 800 people you fired and have them actually do some Quality Assurance (QA) testing on your product before you release. QA is quite popular with most of the large companies these days Mr Brack. Maybe you should consider using it.
False advertising does tend to inflate their expectations J.
J Allen Brack should be managing warcraft...not leading Blizzard Entertainment
I played all the Warcraft franchise when they were originally released and remember them all fondly. I'm so glad I didn't buy into this debacle and taint those recollections.
Don't blame this on "the community expecting really amazing things. " We only expected what you told us it was going to be.
Ahh investors eating up the usual bull^&*! right? Does anyone actually believe speeches like that besides apparently them?
A little offtopic but i need to let some steam go.Always the same with blizzard in the last few years in my opinion.Release a half finished/f***'ed up game/product and a few days later " we are sorry, but we will do better!"So WHEN will you start making things better? It's really sad to see what you release. Most people rage and scream about it. But i dont have the passion for you (Blizzard) anymore to care so much about your games, that i would get mad. There are so many things you could do in all of your games to make it more interesting (Especially in WoW i could bring up plenty of ideas how to improve the #$%^ed up systems. A 15 year old could find solutions to problems you create and the community dislikes). Your leading-dev's don't know their games anymore. You fire a punch of people to please the shareholders and then rehire less skilled people. You became the thing i hate the most. A delusional, greedy and lying company. (lying in case of promising AAA-Standards and delivering something of an indie level)If you continue this path, you will have a very hard drop to reality. The higher you climb the ladder, the deeper you can fall.
Empty words that mean nothing. We've heard this "We care about the players" line before. It's been proven time and time again that not only do you not care, you don't even listen. The sound of coins falling into your pockets echoes louder than the players honest complaints. That is what your ACTIONS show us.P.S."But we stand behind our games, and have consistently shown that not only do we support them, but we continue to build on them even after launch."Oh so is that why you cut Heroes of the Storm from future support? This line not only isn't true. It's a flat out lie.
I like how people mention that Blizzard decided to not roll out innovations and informed everyone beforehand so that players could refund 8 months before the game. You know that's a pile of bullcrap, right? When they advertise updated campaign, cool cinematic angles and better voiceovers people start pre-ordering and buying the game right away. When they announce cutting features, most players will not refund. They already got hooked. It's a common marketing practice. If the person is at least slightly interested he will be an easier target than a completely unengaged person. If they said they will just update models right away, they would have a lower player base of potential customers. So it's a scum move at its core. Also, I don't feel that I'm obligated to watch every single interview and read official website of the game that is not out yet. Most of "reworks" were abandoned. The only thing we've got are models. Don't try to defend Blizzard when they're obviously wrong. This was not just "not blizzard quality", this was ^&*! almost entirely. Good things in Reforged come from classic War3. As long as you keep eating what blizzard gives you, they will keep making these "not blizzard quality" games
None of the statements out of Blizzard regarding WC3:RM have felt like they've addressed anything in specific. It's the same cookie cutter response of "oopsie, we messed up, sorry, we're trying!" and it's pretty disheartening. Even in the initial message from Blizzard addressing the issues, it barely seemed to mention any of the glaring issues the game was having that people actually were complaining about. And this has kind of become the Blizzard norm, hasn't it?
I started expecting Blizzard to produce really amazing things. I've come to expect some sort of mess of a game where quality once ruled as king. You've lost your way, Blizzard.
