Don't forget Varimathas from AntorusAlliance:Varimathras: So, your Alliance still endures. Longer than I expected, though she has already planted the seeds of its downfall. She is patient, that one.Varimathras: When your thrones run red with betrayal... when your holy places burn and the shattered mask hangs above your hearth... only then you will know. And it will be too late.Varimathras: It matters not. You are blind to the true darkness closing in around you.Horde:Varimathras: So, she found me at last. Sent her underlings to finish the job.Varimathras: Tell me, when she seized your throne of hides and bones, was your allegiance forced? No... I'd wager you surrendered it willingly... or were convinced you did.Varimathras: It matters not. You are blind to the darkness in your midst.-----Varimathras: Better that you died here, where she cannot claim you.Varimathras: Death... claims... us all.Varimathras: Come, then. We will trade pain for pain!
Wrath of the Banshee Queen/Lich Queen!
This looks for me like: Oh, horde/orcs invading Azeroth, they are the biggest evil. Oh no, demons made them to invade Azeroth and controlled them with fel blood which was giving blood rage to orcs. Demons are the real evil. Oh no, Burning Legion has bad methods but their idea is to fight Voidlords who are the real evil. And now blizz makes Death to be like a real living being, which is more big/bad than voidlords/old gods.
Thank you for the analysis. Respectfully, the statement repeated multiple times that the 'Horde no longer supports Sylvanas,' (paraphrase) is inaccurate. Blizz has (albeit as an afterthought), built in player choice on the Horde side. TBH, Blizzard writing is less coherent than a group of television writers. We can't think that everything is 100% coherent in storytelling. We all know of interesting arcs that we think are related to the main story...that never get picked up again. Nevertheless, the one story that has been told all across BfA has been of Sylvanas and the forces of Death, Light, and Void. She is the key, and you are right to draw parallels (loosely) between her and Illidan in Legion. My main concern is that in the end, those of us who are compelled by Sylvanas' story, those of us who refused to betray her...won't, in the end, be given a compelling option to live out the results of BfA. As it has been revealed to us, I support every action Sylvanas has taken, and I find her take on the Alliance and (most of) the Horde as "sheeple" serving a greater plan of which they are unaware...as legitimate and compelling. My greatest disappointment is that those of us who believe in this side of the storyline, will not be given a chance to support Sylvanas in some real way, to continue that loyalty...even if she isn't the warchief. If the Horde betrays her, then that's the Horde I want to betray as well. The playerbase won't ever realign and praise Sylvanas, so she's doomed to some kind of Illidan existence, vague and in the shadows, like Azshara has been all throughout WoW.
Are we sure that we are going to get a 8.3? Just wondering if we get an expansion instead, either shadowlands or Ny'alotha?I can't think of a big content patch for 8.3 that is not those two I cited.
"We are the Forsaken. We will slaughter anyone who stands in our way."Oh hey look foreshadowing. Anyone ever ask what that "way" was? I got the impression it was turning the world into a corpse judging from how they pollute any land they control into literal pools of slime. Ever notice that the forsaken claim to defy a world that wants them unjustly destroyed is itself rarely justified? That they're the most outright evil thing a player can choose? Do the words "slaughter anyone" not reinforce this image?"Certainly a far cry from her iconic line..."Not really. Sylly has been staking out "we the forsaken" as separate from "we the horde" for literally the length of WoW. It just never seemed to matter before.Hey here's a trick: while it happens that people who feign niceness can intend real evil ever notice it's rarely the other way around? How the abusive, irritable, tyrannical, violent person's never a heroic paragon deep down inside somewhere? Wonder why?Compassion is why. Compassion can be imitated but cruelty requires compassion to be absent, even if temporarily. One is not a mirror of the other. So Sylly's raving about "slaughtering anyone who stands in our way" paired with proving that "standing in our way" can be as simple as "sleeping in a barrow den on the other side of the known world" told you who she was before Vanilla saw it's first patch. We knew her by her works. There's nothing "surprising" about Sylly turning out to be The Lich Queen. There's also nothing mysterious about the compassionless, sadistic, fascist Elf Corpse trying to murder the world actually turning out to be a villain.
Interesting speculation.
Mistyped “tim0e” in the paragraph that begins from “Sylvanas' decision to trick N'Zoth may also backfire, as it didn't seem to work out very well for Azshara either, despite believing she also had the upper hand over N'Zoth.”
What I saw in Azsharas' defeat cinematic was her dying, N'Zoth being released and then gently picking her up and jolting her back to life; I didn't see fear, I saw the first shocked gasp of air after having died (or nearly so)..I'm also still pretty convinced Sylvanas is all about the greater threats to Azeroth despite what this article claims; I just think she's a ¨tad¨ misguided in how she goes about it. I think she sees the power of Death as the only option against the greater Void..But I mean; who knows..
kind of a side note, but is there any setting or a way for users hide "spoiler" stories on the front page? something that has to be clicked that just says "Spoilers - War Campaign", "End of War Campaign Spoilers" or whatever the spoiler is discussing? Sometimes the images and headlines give enough of it away that it's still a spoiler without having to open the article "The End of Hope" reveals that most likely something really bad happens to probably Saurfang or Anduin who prior to this are definitely plotting to do something big against Sylvanas."Rise of the Lich Queen" reveals she not only lives/goes free but also reveals that she gains some kind of new powerful magic/spell or some form of ascension into something greater. Don't get me wrong, most of us could've guessed she probably wasn't going to die or anything on that scale but it still reveals the ending.
We at least should get a new raid out of all this... Maybe that is the final patch for all of this...
If anything, Shadowlands is probably the next patch as a quest zone much like Argus, Tanaan and Timeless Isles were for their expansions at the end. I can't see much coming out of the Shadowlands for an entire expansion. We're due to revisit Wrath themes anyway and BfA has felt more like a filler expansion to set up the next major one just like how WoD ended up being a filler to set up Legion.
I want to know who the Troll is behind that mask? Sourfangs friend?
My do not take seriously prediction: Sylvanas has long planned to teaming up with Azshara and Helya...Xal'atath joined the squad because she thinks it's funny and they need a fourth player...the fall of Azshara into the void was also planned, so they can directly get their hands on N'Zoth in the void realm to overthrow him....next are Odin and the Lichking. Coming Expansion: "Rage of the Furies"
Why would she want to kill what she has for herself - hope. She either knows how to master it or is hopeful she will. Nothing has been shown officially but hints are out to possibilities. There are more than the Bolvar, Helya, the Valk'yr from stormheim and Bwonsamdi that act as gatekeepers of the dead. More of them was referenced with no names attached. was stated in that quest line where we learn Bwonsamdi didn't appoint Sylvanas (vol'jin's questline if I recall correctly). It would makes sense that the hungering death she talks about being fed is either Helya or one we have yet to encounter - but would at least be introduced to in 8.3. 8.3 should be centered around Sylvanas to some degree, like 8.2 was Azshara, and 8.1 Jaina. As for shadowlands... probably not going to be 9.0.
Who will betray the alliance, Tyrande or Alleria?
