Well,as of now if they don't introduce some upgrade mechanic like obliterum in legion, taking a gear crafting profession early on is not that great, items will still sale but not as hot as in legion.People will focus to grind the reputations so going inscription will be great with the contracts+other potential valuable items. If the prediction is correct and a similiar system with obliterum will be implemented later on,people with their mains will buy what piece of gear they will be missing but most of your gold will come from alts, especially the hype bandwaggon with the new allied races and wanting to gear up fast, also a + for inscription will be the allied races and the need to farm exalted reps.Edit:Also don't forget all profession ranks are gated behind reputation.
I think the entry level crafted PvP gear from MoP is the direction Blizz should go with crafted armor. Every set had a unique look so it's still amazing to sell for transmog. The sets were also at a nice level where they were great for hoping into PvP and dungeons when you hit max level, but the mats were common enough that the prices were affordable for practically everyone. I really think crafted gear having unique transmog appearances and not gear for staring dungeons, or being viable for end-game is the way to go. I do think the biggest issue with crafted gear (and the ah in general) is that monopolies can form and the prices for some common items can get out or range for the vast majority of players. You get into situations were the bank goblins constantly buy up everything in certain areas of the ah and relist it at higher and higher prices. Blizz wants most things to be accessible for players to get and the truth is the AH and many items on it are no longer accessible for the casual player who plays for fun and doesn't want to have to min-max their gold making. I've been a fairly successful goblin in a guild of very, very casual players, and not a single other player in my guild has more 50k gold on their account. I've wondered for a few years if a system where certain items (like crafted gear) once bought off of the auction house should become BoA to prevent those kinds of issues.
dude thinks he's going to mount up on his "auction" mount between boss pulls in dungeons and raids, lol. Sounds like me thinking I could just be fishing between boss pulls in dungeons and raids. Good luck mounting up anywhere that isn't outside.
Am I missing something with the DMF exploit? Why would you do it on a class trial instead of normal character? Except soothsayer runes all the other stuff requires lvl 15 and allied races start at 20...
Personally, I don't earn a lot of gold just for the sake of earning gold. Without intending to offend anyone, I am puzzled that there is so much hemming an hawing over buying a mount like the Brutosaurus if you can afford it. If you're not gonna buying something that badass and exclusive to show off your economic prowess, what is the point? This is one reason I have the spider mount - it provides no utility, but the prestige of being able to ride around on a mount that expensive is truly a treat. I'd like to think I'm good at gold making and mounts like this are fun ways to show that, just like a Gladiator mount shows skill in arenas or a Mythic drop mount conveys expertise in PvE content.
Hell yes im buying the Reins of the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur ! I multibox and cant wait to stroll through goldshire with 8 Brutosaurs! lol!
I think it is 100% appropriate for them to go ahead and make the Mage Tower challenges available 100% of the time and it may even get me to attempt feral druid. I wish they would allow access to the Nether Disrupter portion of the crafted legendaries as well.
My goodness... I WILL be buying the Brutosaurus, probably for all the wrong reasons. Don't have the money yet, but workin' on it.I simply want the flexibility of being able to AH from anywhere. I tend to run out of consumables at all the wrong times, being able to either buy flasks/pots or food or food components, or even just browse the random greens and what not while waiting for a group to form or during a raid break or while waiting at an entrance to a 5-man is going to be incredibly useful. And as a goblin, I see broader market, meaning more opportunity. Also, as a goblin with taste for natural beauty, the idea of running my trade empire from the quiet of my Pandaria farm, or some place of natural beauty, sounds sooooooo attractive. Think of the opportunities, with this mount, I can play the AH all while waiting for the bloody dragon to spawn again on the bleeping Timeless Isle! I already have Time-Lost Protodrake, but if I didn't, then doing AH while camping its route is also an option. Or any other spawn point for anything worthy, really! Also, I can't help but notice that garrison engineering shack which offers reusable mailbox (3 charges, unique item) will come useful. Also, I actually started grinding out Argent Gruntling/Squire on alts that don't have it yet... even the goblin ones. I already have the Jeeves on my engineer and Katy's Stampwhistle, but... hey, can always have moar.
@ThoorinYou have a point my friend!Don't say yours is the wrong reason for buying the brontosaur! In fact, your post made me realize that I WANT the mount for myself, even if this will means I will be back to some 200-300k. I am a mount farmer, and yes, sometimes I don't have the time to play the AH and wait for world bosses or rares (TLPD and Aeonaxx) to spawn. But this is solved with this mount! And tbh, scanning the AH on top of old Nagrand's floating isles is doing it like a boss!TLDR : I will probably buy the brontosaur, although I fear to be a poor man later...
It genuinely baffles me that people are debating buying the brutosaur based on economic reasons. The brutosaur AH will have some minor conveniences. Something that comes to my mind is running out of enchanting mats in the middle of raid. This will save us time (assuming a raid with a reasonably accessible mounting area, which many have). Checking prices on the fly on characters I don't have my AH database loaded on to reduce load times is another. Is it going to make me money, let alone enough to justify the cost? Of course not. It's a prestige mount, like the spider. That's what having mounts like this are about. I can't imagine most of the people who buy the mount will ever make enough money from it to justify the cost. The whole reason I spend time playing the AH is to be able to buy cool things like this. I'd be buying it if it did nothing but let me ride around on it.
