I've always enjoyed the fact that the Alliance has been the "good" faction with the Horde being the "bad guys", and I enjoy the faction conflict. What bothered me the most was when Blizzard kept saying that "no, no, shades of gray", when what was shown in game clearly said otherwise. I think it's far more interesting to have two factions that are so clearly different, and embrace it rather than try to pretend it's not the case. It became even more interesting to me after I played both factions and realized that there's an asymmetry there:The Alliance as a whole is a noble faction with good intentions, but plagued with less-than-noble individuals in power (much like Stormwind itself). Examples include Archbishop Benedictus, Garithos and of course Arthas.Meanwhile, the Horde as a faction is aggressive, expansionistic and often very cruel, but with individuals trying their hardest to rise above the savagery and place emphasis on the honor part of "lok'tar ogar". Examples here include Thrall, Saurfang and - the Horde players. I think that's the most interesting thing of all, that the Horde player characters are, for the most part, good guys even though their faction really isn't.
This is #$%^e storytelling.
So no more bull@#$%ting about Sylvanas. She's an evil piece of *!@#. No longer are just the Forsaken her armour, the entire Horde is going to be used as her armour. Her 'empire' on Kalimdor needs to be destroyed. It's the home of the night elves, every other race there is a squatter that has no rights to exist as far as I'm concerned. I look forward to the ALLIANCE killing Sylvanas. The Horde do not get to take part in this. Blizzard better not leave the Night Elves on Eastern Kingdoms as some kind of refugees. They lived in Kalimdor before Teldrassil was even a thought. Lordaeron can burn in hell and the Forsaken with it, it's not a replacement, Eastern Kingdoms are not a home for any Night Elf.
They killed of Vol'jin just so Sylvanas can become the warchief and go absolute nuts, murdering and burning world trees, starting a damn bloody war immediately after we defeated the Legion. What about Baine? I don't think he's gonna like how she rules. He's not even mentioned in the scenario. Also I like how blizz just writes void elves as fully alliance now - blood elves just had a change of heart because Lor'themar told their silly hunter leader she's not welcome in Silvermoon because her void was doing something to the Sunwell? They're gonna betray their own people for the sake of it?I suppose Nightborne aren't gonna be happy about taking part in another war when they just finished dealing with their own crazy leader and the legion. This is just bad writing, just like in Overwatch. What's next? 'ehhh guys, Bolvar is actually super evil, even worse than Arthas, so have fun killing the Lich King at ICC again, he drops a visible horse for once!'
That... actually makes a lot of sense. The Old Gods pulling the strings like that. They're intentionally causing the Alliance and Horde to turn on each other so they can come out and say, if you pardon the meme, "IT WAS ME, DIO!" and proceed to enslave both factions without warning.
