This is cool, and also...hmm...how to put it. We're powering up, and making our weapons of legend into unstoppable badass artifacts. And a couple hours into the next expansion are we going to switching them out for a whatever of the whatever. The only thing I can think of is some kind of global disjunction, that wipes out all magic on Azeroth (enchantments, weapons, a certain flying city) and we have to create new weapons to fight the void lords. That's my only guess.
I really hope the + stats with concordance isn't set in stone yet. Vers is by far the most boring stat they could possibly have added. Please change it to mastery or haste instead.
Mastery for Ret? :D
I literally could not ever recommend a new player to this game. This is the epitome of the example as to why.
Netherlight Fortification: Upgrade the item level of your artifact +5, up to +15. It appears this is shared between relic slot trees. So you can only upgrade to +15 ilvl, not +45.This is Wrong tested it today and it does give 45 ilvl to weapon. ( weapon went from 942 to 987 )
Just when I thought it would be okay to raid with alts... one step forward, two steps back. Guess I'm done until next expansion.
This is getting ridiculous, please remove artifacts from the game that I loved
Did some actual PTR testing, since this post left a lot of open questions.Netherlight Fortification. The traits are shared across the 3 relic slots. Putting 1 rank into first will put it at 1/3. Putting 1 rank at second puts it at 2/3 and so on. Currently, each rank gives 15 item levels not 5 as listed for a total of 45 item levels.Tier 2. You should expect this to follow the same pattern. So, if you want to stack haste and get Light Speed on each relic, you can achieve a total 3 ranks not 9 as the calculator suggests. The Orange slot. This is not some special legendary slot. It's a preview slot. Its name in the game is 'PreviewRelic'. When a relic is inserted into this slot you can attune the relic, which displays which netherlight traits the relic will have. This attunement will also bind the relic in case of BoEs. For the purposes of stacking certain netherlight traits this preview frame gives you the option to see what you will get before you overwrite what you have in your weapon. As of now it doesn't appear to be any way to tell which netherlight traits a relic will have at loot time. It's unknown whether we only get the 3 ranks to get one in each tier or if we will get the full 6 ranks to unlock every trait in each tier for each gem. I would personally expect the latter since 9 total ranks would make the netherlight progression very short. At rank 60 which world first guilds have now, you are already halfway done. Here's a screenshot of the preview slot in action.http://imgur.com/gallery/KrXQ6
Since today's build you actually only get 15 ranks for your weapon. So from 947 to 962 for example and not 992 as in the previous build. 45 total via doubledipping of the points would have been an incredibly large power increase anyway. The fifth point in the netherlight crucible is currently spendable at artifact level 64 (concordance 13), the 6th at 67 (concordance 16) and 7th at 70 (concordance 19).
This is dumb.
too confusing to be honest, I don't mind min-maxing but this level of complexity is too much. I just like to kill things with a pointy (preferably) stick. Any stick! It transfers power to the weapon and not to the player, since without the weapon we are pretty much useless, which is kinda bad for game design.
It's just adding a semi-random talent tree to each relic, far as I can see.
While I'm a fan, the recent info suggesting that it is the individual relic that is upgraded screams "Glyph 3.0" to me. Hopefully we can also unsocket the relics at some point once we dip them in the crucible...
Overall, an interesting idea. The fact that it's another aspect of the game that's heavily subject to RNG is mildly annoying, though. Hopefully the traits are fairly well-rounded across all fronts, otherwise, this could become something of a nightmare.
