The studio isn't going to fund a new cut of the film to be created and included on a DVD unless the regular DVD does well. But if the fans don't want to buy the regular DVD. They'll not pay for a director's cut to be pieced together, DVD production, cost a lot of money! The fact remains that as much as some of us want to fool ourselves, the movie did not do well at the box office. It needed to make $500 million to be considered a "success" in the industry, and it's only just broken the $400 million mark -- with the overwhelming majority of that coming from China. It's the highest-grossing video game adaptation of all time, yes, but that's not saying a whole lot either.
I think that they are gonna get ALOT from dvd sales and i sure hope the directors cut does come out eventually, will be disappointed if not
Sad that the China sales are very tainted due to the fraud involved with Wanda and what seems like them buying up unsold tickets to make the movie get extra hyped up. Now you have people talking about how successful the movie was in China when really they probably invested $100 million to over inflate the numbers to try and generate a huge return on the investment with US sales and upcoming home video sales. My favorite part of the fraud part was this:One theater in the city of Foshan, in southern Guangdong Province, saw ticket sales increase 406% from Friday, and somehow a Wanda cineplex in the city of flood-stricken Liuzhou in Guangxi Province had an average of 130 moviegoers per screening on Saturday; Warcraft’s highest average attendance was 93 during its midnight screenings. Something wasn’t adding up.Anyways, I saw it opening weekend and it was decent but it wasn't great. I'd like to see another movie be made and I know everyone would love to see Arthas and the Lich King saga on the big screen.
There's a major error in the video. Bear's Fortitude is a hidden artifact appearance for Survival Hunters, not the Prestige PVP appearance, that is Serpent's Strike.
so this also makes it a GRIND to also have possibly the stuff you really need gated ALSO in dungeons. I mean we have to do them while leveling to get some gear and get a sense of the fights. Then we have to go into heroic to get even more gear to get into raid. Wheres the time(including leveling the artifact) going to come from?So do the quests on one of your gear runs? Are you really saying you're too busy playing the game to play the game?I do not think you understand what i am saying. I am saying, where will the time come from if your MAIN is not a Herbalist, miner, but is a skinner(can not wait to see how a quest goes with maybe 3 skinners in a dungeon group). Because it WILL be a grind to get the artifact to level asap to be considered for a group other than LFR, so your DPS is where it should be with the broken MM spec of my 1st main. This means i will have to take valuable time to already start up and alt and concentrate of (Gathering dungeons to get ahead?) all while trying to get my main to where i am even viable for the group? Its time wasted but again, some of the other professions need to be leveled to supply (Items, mats, or whatever) that are included in your mains crafting profession. Maybe a cloth vest as a regent for a LW pattern, and there is cooking intertwined with other professions for recipies.Thats my gripe, its not a huge gripe but is cause for some added stress while concentrating on your main and its artifact and gear. My other main, Feral druid is in no better shape when it comes to the spec. It is horrible no matter how you slice it.Thats my gripe in a nutshell. I mean i will have to do what i have to do, but it really is undue extra burden in the long run.
I haven't seen the movie yet, mostly because I was waiting for the initial crowd to die down and I had some critical family stuff come up, but also because I was pleasantly surprised that one of the nicer theaters near me suddenly decided to start showing it a week after it came out at Regal Cinemas (totally weird). I'm going to be disappointed if there's no extended edition...the films are all digital now anyway, run through numerous computers and adjusted as needed in a massively long process. They can't even use the excuse that it takes too long to splice the cut out parts back in. With as much money as it made overseas, they'll put out another version just to make more money...I'd put money on it.
