Then what the was point of the comment, if you don't care one way or another?
Providing information.Cheers.
But you didn't; you said that some people on the official forum feel that way without expending on the how or the why.
Saying people on the official forums feel a certain way is providing information. The information is that people on the official forums feel a certain way :)Cheers.
And why do they feel that way?Because honestly, at this point in the game saying 'People on the official forums feel that that x is ruining the game' is standard; where X can be leveling, raiding, CRZ, pvp, pve etc etc etc, and none that of that really shows why they feel that way or they parrot the same tired complaints that have been around since Vanilla.
The only reason I'm still playing is because I like leveling alts. I plan on quiting soon and finding a new game to play, World of Warcraft is getting too old now.
I do look over the WoW forums...and I see the same whining, &*!@#ing and moaning that happens here.
Yeah...well 8.3 Million subs equates to $124.5 million per month or roughly $1.5 billion a year. And that doesn't even include Blizz store purchases, TCG, realm transfers, etc. I would say Blizz obviously, and WoW in particular, is doing just fine, contrary to what the whiners and QQ'rs are saying.
Well, it's no wonder that subs are down, especially on the east coast, where they were severely impacted by CRZ forcing them three hours ahead on everything before patches went into effect. CRZ drove a lot of people away, and continues to make it so that people don't want to log in. Server merges would have been far better than this still buggy, still hampering technology. I've been playing since a few months after Vanilla went live, so I've seen every change that's been implemented. The problem is Blizzard is trying to make all the people happy all of the time and it's not working. Shaman have been so radically altered that totems are virtually useless. When they completely change how a class is played over and over again, yes, people are going to be fed up. Instead of forcing out new content too rushed and rough feeling, they should have merged some servers and renovated the player models. Eight year old tris are eight year old tris. The game visually looks ... clunky compared to some of the newer MMORPGS out there. There are glitches and animation bugs and all kinds of things that should have been ironed out a long time ago.CRZ is bad for business. No question about it.
Ok...i might be lagging behind a bit but i lol'ed at this:http://www.cad-comic.com/cad/20130510
Yall's conclusions are right even if your numbers are based on a bad assumption. China does not have monthly subs, They have time cards that cost about $5 for 40 hours of game time which given their play style is a month's worth of gaming. In point of fact the China numbers amount to legalized padding. Ignore them. Based on their quarterly statements about 2.5 million of the decline is China and 1.3 the rest of the planet. At the peak China numbers were up to 5 million leaving 7.1 for all the rest. That means China is down by about half and the rest about 18%. That is nowhere near as bad as the nay-sayer's are crying about. To be blunt the game has peaked. So what.? The point is that saying this or that change is responsible for a big drop in subs is mostly hogwash. The real drop is not as big as it is being purported to be and the conclusions people are drawing are at best only partially supported by the facts.
Cookie cutter builds. Discovering the right build was part of the fun. Now you dont have to. Endless array of stupid grinding dailys for rep. Portals all over the place instead of 1 place. Blizzards asinine continuation of forced travel to make you spend more time in the game. What I can't get flying mounts for my alts after I've leveled a main? JFHC. GFR blizzard. Game continuity destroyed with the release of mists. And no "you left off here guide" telling me where I need to go to open quests. Just open the !@#$ ing quests. Stop with prerequisites. Gear vendors spread to hell and back. I mean....the game that was fun, that had all it was supposed to have, died with the release of Mists of Stupidity.
Excellent post adamsm. Couldn't agree more.Cheers.
