Likely Cataclysm Release Date: December 7th!

See this post for the details!"Arena battles and Rated Battlegrounds are only available during an active player versus player combat season. Season nine will begin on December 14th, so be prepared at that time to take your shot at glory!"

We are currently planning to end Arena Season 8 as early as October 12. At that point we will go through our normal process to determine who is eligible for the end-of-season rewards. This process should take approximately one week. It's very important for players who feel that they may be eligible for the Arena-specific titles and/or the Wrathful Gladiator’s Frostwyrm to refrain from transferring their characters to another realm or faction until after Arena Season 8 ends.

The next Arena Season will begin for level-85 players approximately one week after the official launch of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. During the break between seasons, all rated matches will be turned off and Arenas will be unavailable. All Team Ratings, Personal Rating, and Arena Points will be wiped when Arena Season 9 begins, but Matchmaking Rating and Honor Points converted to the new currency system will remain.

So, feel free to go play that Brittish, Spanish, German, or wherever you are from, MMO. Blizzard is based in USA but it pushes it service internationally. I duno but it seems the most effective way to announce the date is to either do it in all the formats for the different continents/countries that blizzard is stationed in or put the appropriate date and time in the other Blizzard websites designed for people from the other countries. (if they ever announce it publicly and want everyone to know)

If you're doing business with people from other countries, do you want to ignore them when you're setting up something like the date? If you're in an internet conference with people from all over the world, would you want to talk to them using American slang when everyone else learned British English and have no idea what you're talking about? You have to have integrity about certain things, especially when more than half of your clients are from across the world and use certain things that you don't, like the metric system.

US players makes a smaller portion of the 11million that are playing WoW, I can assure you that. Without the rest of the other players from other parts of the world playing this game, blizzard wouldn't probably generate enough revenue to even start their 3rd expansion this year.

Blizzard is owned by a French company called Vivendi, just so you know, it's stationed in Paris. Now what were you talkin about moving all those foreign gamers elsewhere? Blizzard is a company that provide an international service, so just because Blizzard is stationed in the US, it doesn't mean jack. Everyone is equal when it comes to the service that Blizzard offers, just because you live in Germany playing WoW, it doesn't mean you are going to get any less of what everyone in the US is getting (the exception is the restrictions within the countries of course).

I think if this is real then its safe to say Cata will be in stores on the 7th. I base this on the fact that they said Season 9 will begin a week after Cataclysm is released

But if they leave it that late they won't get the crowds from Black Friday.

Who gives a flying *!@# how it's written in some places? I write it a couple of ways. 12/07/2010, 2010 12 07 (when i was in the Air Force) or i say the seventh of december. It honestly doesn't !@#$ing matter.

Except that when two people in different countries, and one of those countries is the US, need to communicate a date, 12/5/11 (for example) can mean two VERY different dates. In this case it does matter. I'm sorry you are too narrow-minded to see that.

It's not "holier than thou", it has to do with the US using it's own system while the rest of the world cooperates and uses a standard system. There are real human beings outside the US and not just some vague less-than-human race that exists solely for US exploitation.

Im pretty sure when it's ready to be released that everyone is gona know the definite time for it in their country anyway. It's a huge release, i'm pretty sure the publishing sector will do a good job at getting the words out.

Besides that though, MMO-Champion usually is a great source for inside information from Blizzard, considering they've gotten every prediction about expansions almost right on the money. Sure, they changed it a few times, but I just don't see how it could be a "coincidence" that he gets it right multiple times.

I think MMO has been dead on balls accurate. After all, they're not predicting when Cata will be released, that's just a prediction anyone can choose. They are REPORTING what an insider at Blizzard is leaking to them. So if Blizzard says November 23rd, the insider tells MMO, they tell us. If Blizzard changes their plan and makes it December 7, the insider tells MMO, they tell us.

They ARE accurate. It's the source of their information that is changing the dates.

In regard to the stuff about Thrall, I have no idea. Just thought I'd point this out.
