As you explore these new lands, you’ll also participate in the stories of some of Azeroth’s most iconic heroes and leaders of the Horde and the Alliance, including Jaina Proudmoore, Thrall, King Anduin Wrynn, and Warchief Sylvanas Windrunner.
There’s also one more tale we’re not quite done telling: As Horde players journey through Zandalar and commune with ancient troll Loa spirits, they may gain new insight into the fate of Vol’jin, fallen warchief of the Horde.
Jesse Cox: Is Vol'jin in a flask or bottle that Thrall keeps with him?
Ion Hazzikostas: Not literally no. That would be...
Jesse: Is he keeping a bottle flask with him?
Ion: So, last we checked, Vol'jin's dead. Vol'jin was cremated on a funeral pyre and that means he's ash.
Jesse: But he's a troll, so he can be a spirit.
Ion: He can be both. But his physical manifestation is basically a pile of ash that's in a funerary urn. And so when we have a slide, these are the heroes of Azeroth whose stories we'll be exploring, Jaina, Thrall, Sylvanas, Anduin and then you have this urn, just cradled in Thrall's hand lovingly. One former Warcheif to another.
Ion: In all seriousness, there are almost certainly... as powerful a shaman as he was... his connection to the voodoo, to the Loa; we likely have not heard the last from his spirit and there may be some insight that he can shed on the situation we are in now.
