This quest is horrendous. You can't pick up the food in combat which means, while you're getting pounded on by 2-4 mobs, someone else will swoop in and snatch the item you were trying to grab in the first place.
Bottomline is, the best way to complete this quest currently is by being a total asshat.

This quest is a great example of how NOT to design quests:

You can't pick up the food while you're in combat, and the mobs aggro on you even if someone else is already in combat with them.
The mobs don't leash (at least the ones with the banners on their backs don't), so if you try to run out of leash range, you're in for a nasty surprise. I discovered this while doing this on my warlock, and ran most of the way across the zone (no exaggeration) before my toon got stuck to the terrain and the pack of 10 Wildhammer dwarves chasing me killed my toon. When I got back, I found that pack of 10 dwarves camping my corpse--and they never de-spawned. I had to go back to the graveyard and take the resurrection sickness hit.
There are too few of the quest objectives spawned at any one time, and too many players competing for them. Unlike Uldum, Deepholm, and Vashj'ir, where everything re-spawns really fast (so fast that you'll get swarmed if you dawdle), the spawns for this quest take a comparatively long time. As another poster said, you basically have to be a complete jerk to get anywhere with this quest.
Oh, yes, and there is debris all over the ruins that you get stuck on when you're trying to move around, and it's very hard to get un-stuck once you're stuck.

The display for this quest is wrong. It says you have to gather 15 food. but all you really need is 10. So don't be an idiot like me and stand there for 10 minutes wondering why you can't click on the food anymore.

Currently the quest says you need 15 food stores, but the items stop glowing once you pick up 10. Upon returning to Griff, you can turn in the quest with only 10.

I'm going to go ahead and second everyone else with the whole ten food only thing. Don't be standing around like an idiot like me-- well, a well-intentioned idiot, since it says 15 food stores-- and just kind of keep getting yourself into warfare while trying to loot unlootable food.

This quest is a reference to the halo based machinimo Red Vs Blue.

The main location for the series is a box canyon of no strategic value called "Blood Gulch", one of the characters (soldiers) on the "Red Team" is called Grif, this character is notorious for being hungry, lazy and not very bright.

This quest is rubbish. I've tried gathering from two camps and both times there are tons of mobs friendly to allies, who run up and grab everything before I can kill them. They spawn quickly and you can't gather while you're fighting. Complete CRAP.
